It never ceases to amaze us how many people let non qualified so called "web designers" create their company websites. You may not realize it but when someone visits your website, they decide within seconds whether or not to stay. You don’t get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression making it very difficult to win back a visitor.

Great web design isn’t just about making pretty graphics and bright colors. There are literally hundreds of factors to consider when designing a website. You have to balance a blend of clean code, fast downloads, proper positioning, perfect color,excellent copy and an overall understanding of who your customer is.

Many so called "web designers" will make a website that looks great on their computer,but don’t test the page on many web browsers and many resolutions. This is vital because many web browsers interpret HTML differently. In fact if your web designer is still coding with HTML, you need to ask why their not using XHTML instead.
